Sessions / Embodied Sound Healing

Sound you don't just hear. Vibration you can feel.

YamOGA Embodied Sound Healing practice imagery

Unlike a traditional sound bath, where sound is created around you, YamOGA Embodied Sound Healing can bring vibration directly to the body.

Selected Tibetan singing bowls are gently placed on different areas of the body and played by hand. As the bowl resonates, its vibration can be felt through the point of contact, creating a distinctly physical experience of sound.

Because the human body contains a significant amount of water and our tissues readily transmit mechanical vibration, sound can be experienced not only through hearing, but also through touch and sensation.

This is where sound becomes embodied.

The vibration travels through the body’s tissues, creating a sensory experience that can invite awareness of areas where you may be holding tension and encourage a sense of release, rest, and reconnection.

Why place the bowls on the body?

A singing bowl heard across the room and a singing bowl resonating against the body are two very different experiences.

With direct placement, you may notice the vibration moving, pulsing, spreading, and gradually fading through the body.

Different bowls can be placed in different areas depending on your comfort and the intention of the session. Tuning forks may also be incorporated for a more focused experience of vibration.

There is nothing you need to “do” with the sound.

You feel it. You observe it. You allow your body to respond.

From vibration to stillness.

Within the YamOGA 4R Method™, this practice belongs to RESONATE.

Sound becomes a bridge between the physical and the subtle: something you can hear, something you can feel, and something that can bring your attention more deeply into your body.

Listen with more than your ears. Feel with your whole body. Resonate.
